POLICE FC will need a top-drawer performance at the back and a decent level of creativity in midfield if they are to stand a chance of pulling off a result against an Express FC side that has scored an average of two goals so far this season.

The Red Eagles have been rampant going forward, with strikers Moses Ndaula and Noah Ssemakula being everything exciting about their outstanding performances, particularly in the games against Arua Central, Boroboro and Masaka LC.

Express’ technical staff will certainly expect their treasured two-man attack to replicate their early season performances in a game that could have far implications on their title pursuit.

Police head coach Angelo Lonyesi spent Friday’s session emphasizing to his players the need to play with courage and sticking to opponents capable of destroying them if given an inch of space as was in their earlier games.

Police’s plot will try to highlight the menace likely to be created by Ssemakula, and winger Sulaiman Jjingo.

The hosts will ideally also try to allow no room for pocket-sized Jjingo to dictate proceedings of the game like he did in Express’ previous outing against Masaka.

In Peter Ssenyonjo and attacking midfielders Joram Katende and Haruna Mulindwa, Police will feel privileged to have such strong characters; such gifted footballers that should doubtlessly the hosts impose themselves on the visitors, particularly if galloping full-backs Kayondo and Juma Lubega supply the width.

Elsewhere, Bunamwaya will have to attain a certain level of consistency if they are to keep the frontrunners in sight.

Coach Edward Golola’s side claimed a stunning 1-0 win against Express at Wankulukuku but undermined that achievement with a disappointing 2-2 draw against Maji days later –their third draw since the season started.
