Makalama, Okot to stay
- G4S Pirates has retained Brian Makalama and Peter Omwony Okot as head coach and fitness coach respectively for the 2010 season. Pirates director of rugby Mohammed Issa said he was impressed with the club’s performance this season so the decision to maintain the coaches. “We are just building a core of rugby structures for 7’s, 10’s and Pirates II that will be feeding the 15’s side. We don’t need to hurry with changes when performance is improving,” he added.

No fixtures yet
- The fixtures for the Big League, and first and second divisions will only be released after the FUFA assembly due in Arua November 28. Competitions committee secretary Moses Magogo said that the politics that has engulfed the soccer federation has forced them to freeze most of these competitions, as the people supposed to run them are the same set for the assembly.

South Africa to host club meet
- South Africa will host the 2011 Commonwealth Weightlifting Championships in Cape Town. The resolution was made by the general assembly at the Commonwealth championships in Penang, Malaysia. Uganda was represented by Salim Musoke (referee/judge). South Africa that won two silver medals in the event and Seychelles are the only African member countries that entered athletes.
