<b>Islam converts receive books</b><br>KAMPALA-Women converts to Islam have received books on Islam. The books were donated to them at the end of a two-day workshop held at the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council (UMSC) headquarters in Old Kampala last week.

KAMPALA-Women converts to Islam have received books on Islam. The books were donated to them at the end of a two-day workshop held at the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council (UMSC) headquarters in Old Kampala last week. The workshop was organised by the UMSC women’s desk, the department of social services and the international Islamic charitable organisation.

Suspected baby thief remanded
LUWEERO-A 27-year-old man charged with the theft of a three-year-old child was on Friday remanded in Luweero Prison. Ahmad Kakooza of Luteete in Bamunanika on Friday appeared before Grade One Magistrate Jane Mugala and denied the charges. The prosecution, led by Alfred Makasi, told court that Kakooza stole the child with the intention of selling him in Sudan. Kakooza had been rescued from a mob four days earlier.
