EDITOR—I recently attended a two-day conservation conference organised by NatureUganda.
It was the first of its kind in the country and I found it very informative.

The conference was organised to mark 100 years since the East African Natural History Society (ENHSC) was established.

At the forum, a number of thought-provoking presentations of scientific studies were delivered that traced where we have come from, where we are and projected the future of biodiversity conservation in Uganda.

As a member of the ENHSC, I applaud and congratulate NatureUganda upon this rare achievement and call upon the wider civil society to emulate them and adopt such information dissemination and capacity building initiatives to champion the cause for sustainable development in Uganda.

The conference was very enlightening and the issues discussed invaluable.
