Two children who were set to participate in a famous motor rally event tomorrow have been blocked by the Police.

The Police on Thursday warned that it would be illegal for former National Rally Champion Ponsiano Lwakataka’s children to take part in the event.

Earlier this week, a beaming Lwatakaka announced that Paddy Kafeero, 10, and Hamis Bukenya, 11, would take part in the sprint, slated for Festino City in Mukono.

However, according to the Police spokesperson, Judith Nabakooba, if he insisted on having the boys drive, Lwakataka would face charges of allowing unauthorised persons to drive a vehicle.

“The law says for one to drive, they have to be at least 18 years. What makes it worse is that the children were to participate in a rally,” Nabakooba said.

The boys have reportedly just completed their Primary Leaving Examinations.

As their dad spoke to the press, they jumped into the vehicle, which sped and spun several metres, before they swaggered out, promising to emerge victors.
