Cameroonian upsets 3rd seed in ITF E.A U-18 circuit

CAMEROONIAN Celestin Nkoueleue registered his third upset in the ITF East Africa U-18 junior circuit yesterday with a 7-5 4-6 6-1 over seed 15 Karim Hossam from Egypt.

CAMEROONIAN Celestin Nkoueleue registered his third upset in the ITF East Africa U-18 junior circuit yesterday with a 7-5 4-6 6-1 over seed 15 Karim Hossam from Egypt.

It was a quarterfinal tie in the event running at Lugogo.

The 16-year-old Dakar based tennis scholar put pressure on his opponent with baseline winners. His north African opponent suffered from the heat and pulling muscle crumbs in the second set.

“I am really exhausted and I was struggling. This is the fourth game I am playing,” Nkoueleue said after his blistering win.

The youngster has beaten seed five Marlu van Vuuren from South Africa and seed 12 Seif Alaa from Egypt.
