The number of suspects held over the robbery of bodoboda motorcycles in Mukono district this week has now reached seven.

Two more suspects identified as Geoffrey Luyima and John Kiseka of Kiwatule in Kampala were netted on Thursday with two motorcycles allegedly stolen from Seeta.

Their colleague, Joseph Byaruhanga of Hoima district, managed to escape and the Police is hunting for him.
The suspects were arrested from Kapeka in Nakaseke district as they were trying to sell the motorcycles.

They confessed that their business was to steal motorcycles from Mukono and sell them in Nakaseke.

“We had just joined this business and by the time we were arrested, we had stolen only three motorcycles,” said Luyima, the gang leader.

He said they would hire a cyclist at night from the stage to transport them to an area with few people from where they would turn against him and throw him off his motorcycle before riding away with it.
The Police had linked them to the use of iron bars in executing their missions, but they denied it, saying they never used any weapon.

The five other suspects who were arrested earlier last week over the same crime are Peter Lugomoka, Bosco Kakayire, Sula Kyeyune, Ronald Mayanja and Abdul Wamala, all of Mukono.
