Opposition can also have good ideas

EDITOR—President Yoweri Museveni has said he has no time for the opposition and even ‘his’ own people. I am surprised! He says he spends his time thinking of ideas to promote development for everyone on this part of planet earth!

If he has no time for people how else will he know, remember, and understand the issues at hand? When the opposition has good ideas, the President should be wise enough to take them. When they have wrong ones, he can reject them with respect and point out what is good and why.

But for him to say that he is the chief executive officer leading about 26 million people and will only communicate with a few who agree with him, is definitely wrong. It contradicts the principles of democracy.

First, the Electoral Commission has no money and is behind schedule for the preparation of the 2011 general elections. Therefore, chances are that those elections will not be handled appropriately!
