THERE has been speculation surrounding former Nation TV senior reporter Simon Kasyate’s fate after his highly publicised resignation from the media house over disagreements with management last week.

The fiery journalist, we have learnt, is not joining any media house anytime soon. He is instead retreating into consultancy work at S&J Strategies, a communications and Public Relations firm in Kamwokya, a Kampala suburb.

Kasyate will be working with former senior scribes Joachim Buwembo and JB Wasswa, both former senior editors at the New Vision and managing editors at the Daily Monitor. Also working with the team is Denis Jjuuko, a former New Vision scribe.

Kasyate is a young journalist who has excelled in both print and electronic media. He won the CNN African Journalist of the year (radio category) in 2004 and he was the overall winner at the Uganda investigative Journalism Awards 2008.
