WHEN his father, a taxi guide with UTODA fell ill and failed to raise money for him to register for the examinations, Francisco Kyambadde lost hope.

The situation was saved by his mother, who mobilised money for his registration.
Kyambadde excelled and beat the 80 students in his class to emerge the best with aggregate 12.

Beaming with joy, the Lutembe Boarding School student said: “I almost gave up.”

“I cannot believe that I have beaten my colleagues with whom I was competing,” he added.

Kyambadde thanked his friend, Peter Wampamba, who helped him with difficult topics. His best subjects were Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
Kyambadde said he wants to do Medicine at university.

The head teacher, Samuel Kamusiime, said 42 students passed in Division One, 34 in Division Two, while four passed in Division three. Kamusiime attributed Kyambadde’s good performance to his willingness to consult.
