G4S Pirates make the dreaded trip to Entebbe hoping to tame Mongers in the Bell Super 8 Rugby League today.

Mongers who started the league with a 9-6 victory over Rhinos at Kampala Club certainly pose a major threat to Pirates in Entebbe.

Monger inspired by Cranes forward Ronald Adigasi are dangerous opponents having secured an inspiring away victory last week.

At Kampala Club champions Uganda telecom Kobs coming off a 116-0 win over Nile in Jinja will be out to register another convincing victory over Toyota Buffaloes.

The Buffaloes who lost to Heathens 43-0 remain the whipping boys of Kyadondo and Kobs will go for nothing short of a bonus point.

Kobs new coaches Ronnie Kaddu and Geoffrey Mabonga whose side leads the table, are likely to field a full strength side despite the feeble opposition.

MTN Heathens travel to Jinja to collect maximum points from minnows Nile while Rhinos recuperating from last weekend’s defeat to Mongers will be up against coach Herbert Wafula’s Hima Impis at Kampala Club.

Impis that forfeited points to Pirates having failed to rise a team because students had not reported back from holidays.

Impis will make their first appearance in this season. Impis made use of the ongoing East African Inter-university Games to gain match fitness.

Wafula was optimistic his team that fell to Kenya’s Starthmoer University 22-0 in the final will rise to the ocassion when they face Rhino.

“My players picked up minor injuries but we are still good enough to take on Rhinos. We are determined to improve our performance this season,” Wafula said. The second round game will be played at Makerere University pitch which has been refurbished.

In the Shield Impis II faces Boks, Saracens take on Kifaru while Rams host Pirates II.
