SADIK Nasiwu has declared his intention to take on incumbent president Tom Omongole during the Uganda Volleyball Federation elections at Lugogo on Sunday.

The race between the two is expected to be a stiff one. It is the first challenge for Omongole who is seeking a fifth term in office. The Bukedea district deputy RDC, who is also a Uganda Olympic Committee, member has been unopposed since 1999.

“I believe everything is in my favour because I have a better programme. At the moment there is no cause of alarm” Nasiwu confided on Wednesday.

Nasiwu has promised to take the sport to the grassroots.

Eddy Okila takes on Cornelius Egwenyu in the race for the vacant post of secretary. It fell vacant last year when Douglas Kafumbe resigned.

Kampala Amateur Volleyball Club secretary Mofaht Masaba is the acting secretary in-charge of the electoral process.
