<b>Iganga to host scrabble search</b> <br>SCRABBLE - The Scrabble Association of Uganda will hold a tournament this weekend in Iganga to select a team for the Second World Scrabble Champion/ East Central and Southern Africa Champion.

SCRABBLE - The Scrabble Association of Uganda will hold a tournament this weekend in Iganga to select a team for the Second World Scrabble Champion/ East Central and Southern Africa Champion. The two-day event that will run from the Feb 28 to March 1 will see Iganga get the second qualifier of the six expected. It is the six qualifiers that will battle in October to get the winner to represent Uganda in Johor Bahru, Malaysia.

Skills’ course for schools

RUGBY - Thirteen secondary schools game’s teachers have conpleted a three days course on coaching and referee the game of Rugby. The course, orgnised and funded by the Uganda Rugby Union, drew teachers from the districts of Apac, Gulu and Lira. The course ended on Febuary 22 at Canton Garden in Lira where Herbert Wafula instilled the participants with coaching skills. Northern region devlopment officer Andrew Erach took the teachers through basic skills while and laws of the game.

Jinja to host championships

DRAUGHTS - Several trophies and other awards will be up for grabs when the draughts association calendar goes into the second week of the 2009 action with the individual championships in Jinja this weekend. Uganda Draughts Association chairman Hudson Kyagaba said this year’s championships, the second activity on the calendar is promising some new challenges and talent.
