JUSTINE Wandaha of Nakanyonyi Girls in Jinja district said she expected to perform well in last year’s Senior Six exams. Wandaha said going into a boarding school provided her with a conducive environment to concentrate on her studies.

The 19-year-old said she used to walk over 5km to school in O’ level at Kaliro High School. “My parents bought me a bicycle, which I rode for 9km every day to go to school. I managed to perform fairly well although life was very hard. I am very happy that when I joined boarding school all I needed to do was to read my books,” she said.

Wandaha got 4AABC in History, Economics, Divinity and Geography, emerging the best student in her school.

She wants to be an accountant like her uncle, who works in Barclays Bank. A staunch Seventh Day Adventist, Wandaha attributed her success to hard work.
She thanked her teachers for their support.
