THE secrets of the Ankole bedroom have been uncovered. In a tell-tale interview carried in the latest Bride & Groom magazine issue on sale, 83-year-old FDR Gureme nostalgically reveals the revered, but often ignored secrets whose revival he called for. Bride & Groom is published by Vision Group.

In the past, a Muhima girl was not supposed to shave until marriage, Gureme said. It was during the Okuhingira (give-away) that she did so and washed her privates with a special herb, he explained.

“The scent from the herbal perfume had such a lasting effect on men; there were very few divorces,” Gureme added.

The magazine’s editor, Keturah Kamugasa, said this was one of her best. The issue also addresses the problem of wedding stress and gives 700 new ideas of planning the perfect wedding.

“We have addressed issues that couples are curious to know, but afraid to ask about. The current issue is a total package,” Kamugasa said.

She also announced that the current issue will offer three lucky readers the chance to win three gowns courtesy of Today’s Bride fashion house.

The readers also stand to win a month-long hair and beauty treatment courtesy of Headline Saloon.
