KIBULI SS moved a step closer to the Coca-Cola Schools Cup final after edging Kakungulu Memorial 2-1 in the Makindye Division soccer qualifiers at Nakivubo on Saturday.

The result kept the seven-time champions on top of the standings with six points following their 1-0 victory over St. Peter’s Nsambya in the five-team contest. Janan Luwum SS are second with three points.

Former Maroons striker Opio Abege and Joseph Mandela struck the crucial goals in either half of the hotly contested match. If Kibuli beat second placed Janan Luwum in today’s game, they will book a place in the Coca-Cola Cup final due in Fort Portal next month.

The Rubaga Division qualifiers kick-off was nearly marred by a fight between Uganda Martyrs High Rubaga and Lubiri.

In Kampala Central Old Kampala took their tally to nine points on top of the table after overcoming Kololo SS and Kitante SS.
