A new studio at Vantage Communications on Kisementi was last week opened to dance lovers. The launch was designed to be a reserve for women.
Gertrude Mungai, a Kenyan sexiologist was the guest speaker. She taught the women how to lap dance.

Towards the end of her talk, she went graphic. For making people find the “spots”, she easily received applause.

When she referred to grinding being more important than pumping, she caused a shock and did not receive the applause.

Veteran Christopher Kato was the centre of attraction with his ballroom dance. Age could be taking its toll, for Kato could easily miss a step but his maintenance of rhythm suggests that he still has some more dancing years.

The salsa sessions were quite enticing. The contemporary dance, requiring more attention, provided more guests with the opportunity to call for more drinks.

The studio gives Kampala more dancing space with an emphasis on dancing for fun. However, the roof is rather low for forms of dance that may require jumps or raising hands. The dance studio holds dance classes everyday.

According to Grace Aciri, the Vantage Communications boss, the studio intends to create a social network through dancing.

But from observation of the inaugural night, the studio will probably offer more sex talk than dance.
