ABBEY Dhaira maintains that his successful rehabilitation from injury will make him a far better player than he was several months ago.

The lanky Cranes goalkeeper has been sidelined for over two months with a groin injury he suffered during the Tusker Club Cup last year and aggravated it during the CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup in January.

“I suffered the injury in the Tusker Cup final, two days before CECAFA. I should have taken a break but then I had a tournament I desperately wanted to win. I depended on painkillers throughout but collapsed in the game against SC Villa,” Dhaira narrated.

Dhaira’s size and agility made him hard to beat, and made the Cranes’ defence impenetrable en-route to Uganda’s 10th CECAFA Championship title.
