Byekwaso tipped for big honours

INTERNATIONAL Federation of Body Builders (IFBB) media commissioner Suresh Pai has tipped Mr Uganda Ivan Byekwaso for a world medal.

INTERNATIONAL Federation of Body Builders (IFBB) media commissioner Suresh Pai has tipped Mr Uganda Ivan Byekwaso for a world medal.

Pai made the remark while meeting Uganda Body Building and Fitness Association (UBBFA) officials led by the president Twaha Ddungu in Kampala this week.

The official who is based in Dubai, also met select body builders.

Referring to Byekwaso, Pai, who is also a nutritional specialist said, "he has the potential, good muscles and his stature is good.

"With proper nutrition and training, he can become a world champion by 2010.

"He only needs to cut weight a bit.

Pai promised to help the 26-year old, who is also the 2008 USPA body builder and holds the Mr Kampala title to achieve world success.

The official promised to help UBBFA solicit sponsorship for domestic competitions.

UBBFA is preparing for the Mr. Kampala and the East African Body Building championships to be held in December.

Byekwaso is one of three body builders preparing for the events.

Pai revealed that he will soon set up a state of the art gym in three months time in Kampala.

The official presented his plan to state minister for sports Charles Bakkabulindi.
