Ddungu fails to hand over files
- The Roger Ddungu executive on Wednesday failed to hand over the Uganda Amateur Boxing Federation (UABF) files as earlier promised. NCS secretary Jasper Aligawesa said yesterday said that they waited for the officials in vain. When contacted for comment, former federation secretary David Kyambade explained yesterday that they had not sent the files because there was no communication from the relevant authorities.
Masaza men act
- Organisers of the annual Masaza Cup soccer competition have thrown out national and Super League players from this year’s edition. The event is competed for by the 18 Buganda counties. The competition will start with a match between Butambala and Mawokata at Kibibi SS ground on May 9. Buganda region chairman Rogers Mulindwa said that no licensed Super League and national team players would play in the event.
Beach volleyball official advises
- Italian veteran FIVB Instructor Roberto Reggiani has advised Uganda Volleyball Federation (UVF) to adopt the latest beach volleyball rules to match international standards.
During a five-day first ever beach volleyball coaches’ course at Lido beach in Entebbe, Reggiani, noted that Uganda still applied rules of court volleyball in beach volleyball. He said a change is needed.
