THE Bamburi Super Series will have a a double-header at Kampala Rugby Club today.

Two more matches in the annual series will be held in Nairobi.

Uganda's Victoria will be battling on their home turf in Kampala against Kenya's Buffaloes in the first of the day's matches.

Attention will then turn to what promises to be an exciting contest between Rwenzori and SDV Transami Cheetahs at the same venue.

Tournament director Josephine Were explained that the Victoria-Buffaloes match was moved to Kampala because of the poor condition of the Nakuru pitch where action was originally set.

“Effects of the long drought have made the Nakuru Athletic Club ground unplayable and the organisers agreed that it would be in order for the two Kenyan teams to travel to Uganda,” Were said.

Rwenzori, who will be playing their third straight match at home, lead their pool A with eight points.

A win would see them amass 12 points and a maximum of 13 should they get a bonus point by outscoring their opponents by four or more tries.

The Cheetahs, playing away for the first time, also need a win to qualify.

A win for Buffaloes will secure four points for a total of nine. A bonus will put the team on 10 points.

Any other result would knock them out of a semi-final berth.
Buffaloes believe the match against Victoria would provide them with a path to the semi-final.

At the same time, Scorpions will take on Lions while Nguvu Sharks are pitted against KEBS Rhinos, the two unbeaten sides, at the Rugby Football Union of East Africa ground in Nairobi.
