ISU run raises sh10m for child education

MOSES Kipsiro easily won the eighth International School of Uganda family fun run at Lubowa on Sunday.

MOSES Kipsiro easily won the eighth International School of Uganda family fun run at Lubowa on Sunday.

The world cross-country silver medalist led for most of the Stanbic Bank sponsored race and reached the finishing point in 29 minutes 31.2 seconds.

The hilly course played in Kipsiro’s favour as many of the competitors walked in sections of the race.
The event raised sh10m that will go to SOS Children’s Village in Gulu, Nakukabye Junior primary school, CoRSU and Uganda Scholarship 360 degrees.

Kipsiro was followed by Simon Ayeko in 29:31:2 and a minute later by Jimmy Oribo.

Grace Magona emerged as the best woman after clocking 30:58 minutes.

Janet Achola and Kelly Lyn were close on her heels in second and third places.

In the category of 40-49 years for men, Johnson Mochi was first on the tape followed by Vincent Doil while the 50-59 bracket was won by James Brown.

Winners in all the respective groups above 21 years pocketed sh0.1m from the sponsors.
Alexander shell of ISU won the U-11 bracket.

Vision Group led by its Managing Director Robert Kabushenga impressed the corporate category finishing fourth.
