KCC FC players only agreed to travel to the airport two hours late yesterday after assistant coach Mujib Kasule produced sh1.8m to pay them. Players got sh100,000 of about sh380,000 the team owes each of them.

Despite lack of money to pay the players ahead of this weekend’s CAF Champions League tie in Khartoum, KCC included 11 officials on the contingent that travelled.

These are coaches George Nsimbe, Mujib Kasule, manager Juma Hamid, physician Solomon Walugembe.

Also on the entourage are Godfrey Nyakaana, Godfrey Kisekka, Tom Lwanga, Florence Namayanja, Hajji Abbas Kalungi, Patrick Isiagi and Richard Omongole

* Paul Nkata ‘Latest’ has reportedly resigned his position as SC Villa first assistant coach citing disrespect by players.

In a communication to the club and soccer governing body FUFA, Nkata said that his decision was prompted by persistent disrespect by strikers Steven Bengo, Emma Okwi and Chrizetsom Ntambi.

Nkata could not be reached for comment but a close source said he had quit saying that an unnamed Villa official had instigated the players to undermine him.
