FIRST, position yourself behind your child and cradle their head with one hand — use a small, soft nylon bristle toothbrush with little baby toothpaste.

Gently massage around the teeth and gums with the brush. Encourage your baby to spit out the toothpaste foam, not to swallow it.

As the child grows, he will want to be more involved with the brushing. This enthusiasm should be encouraged.

Children under eight should be monitored while brushing.
lIt is essential that their teeth be cleaned thoroughly twice a day, after breakfast and before bed.
