Edgars Youth Programme team hit SC Villa youngsters 12-0 in a friendly held in Kampala on Wednesday. The U-13 game was one of six between the two teenage teams in various age categories.

Lule Lubinga needed one minute and 20 seconds to be declared champion of the inaugural Kyagwe traditional wrestling championships on Saturday. The event, held in Mukono, was organised by Bukedde FM, a member of the Vision Group and sponsored by Zain, Select Garments, Hakuna Matata and Samona.

Uganda to host World Cup ties
- Uganda Badminton Association will host the Thomas & Uber World Cup qualifiers for the African continent in February. National badminton coordinator Simon Mugabi said yesterday that the event will qualify a men’s and women’s team for the 2010 World Cup. Badminton’s premier event will be held in Kuala Lumpar, Malaysia in May. Over 20 countries are due in Kampala.
