Buddo SS takes Wakiso Music Festival trophy

NOWADAYS, schools have developed a system of using music, dance and drama not only to promote their images, but also as a way of nurturing students’ talents.

NOWADAYS, schools have developed a system of using music, dance and drama not only to promote their images, but also as a way of nurturing students’ talents.

So, in an annual music festival, five schools in Wakiso district, took the competition to Kawanda SS. These schools included Buddo Secondary School, Kawanda SS, Sam Yiga Memorial School, Berkeley SS and Standard High School, Zana.

Buddo SS won with 818 points, followed by Standard High with 735, Kawanda 673, Sam Yiga Memorial 609 and Berkeley SS trailing. Buddo won trophy
Lawrence Muwonge, the chairman of the organising committeesaid the competitions help students lead a purposeful life in the future.

The students competed in Kiganda, Kisoga and Kinyarwanda dances, in which competitions Buddo SS emerged overall winners.

They took home a non-cash prize trophy and a goat.
This year’s festival ran under the theme ‘Back to school, better life for the youth’.
