UGANDA stunned Kenya by producing a memorable two-wicket win in the Twenty20 trial series at the Nairobi Gymkhana yesterday.

Playing after the bitter aftermath of a 148-run loss to former world champions Pakistan on Saturday, Uganda won the toss and elected to field first, thus restricting Kenya to 132-6 in 20 overs.

Uganda met the target in 19.5 overs with just one ball to spare
Charles Waiswa, the man-of-the-match, was Kenya’s chief destroyer taking two wickets for 18. Kenya had earlier lost to Bangladesh by five wickets on Saturday.

lawrence Ssematimba top-scored for Uganda with 42 runs off 35 balls before he was sent to the pavilion by bowler, Jimmy Kamande after being trapped leg before.

Uganda takes on Bangladesh today in the last quadrangular series that Kenya, Bangladesh and Pakistan are using in preparation for the Twenty20 World Cup in South Africa.

The inaugural tournament commences on September 11 in South Africa.
