AFTER a year in office, Michael Mugisa, the LC5 chairman of Kabarole district, has reshuffled his executive to improve efficiency.
During the district council meeting at Mucwa Council Chambers recently, two councillors were appointed to the district executive committee.

Mugisa appointed Clovis Mugabo, the councillor for Mugusu sub-county as the new vice-chairperson.

Mugabo replaces Moses Ikagobya who was recently sacked by the district chairman on recommendations of the Inspector General of Government (IGG).

In her report, the IGG, Faith Mwondah, said Ikagobya lacked the qualifications for the office of vice-chairman because the institute of Professional Accounting and Business Administration where he obtained his diploma was not licensed and registered by the Ministry of Education.

Mugabo will also take over the portfolio of secretary for community development which was previously occupied by Sylvia Rwabwogo, the district youth councillor who was dropped from the executive.

Others appointed are Amina Kaija, the councillor for Kibiito sub-county. She is the secretary for finance, planning and development.
Rose Mary Byabasaija, the councillor for Kisomoro sub-county, was also appointed to the executive.

Richard Nyakaana, the councillor for Busoro sub-county retained his post of secretary for production and natural resources.

Mugabo and Kaija’s appointment was approved by the councillors, before being sworn-in by Obbo Londo, the chief magistrate for Fort Portal.

Present was Adolf Mwesige, the Minister for General Duties and MPs Steven Kaliba and Steven Kangwera.
