UGANDA Football Referees Association (UFRA) has handed over names of the 28 referees who took part in this year’s Cooper test at Namboole on Saturday.

But UFRA vice-chairman technical Ali Waiswa does not expect additions or subtraction in the number of Ugandan male FIFA referees saying all of them passed with glaring marks.

waiswa said the referees’ body and the football federation were considering setting another date this week for FUFA referees Nelson Nsubuga and Dennis Ojwee, who did not take the Saturday tests.

Nsubuga was reportedly sick while Ojwee was omitted from the initial list of referees invited to take the test.

“Given their fitness and the number of matches they handled last season, all the referees have passed the test but don’t expect changes among them if there are no underhand methods in FUFA,” Waiswa said after the exercise.

Uganda has four slots for male centre officials and seven assistants, while there are two vacancies for female centre and three assistants at FIFA.

The extensive physical exercise was presided over by FUFA president Lawrence Mulindwa.

He had earlier said referees would be recommend for FIFA badges on merit saying he had no problem dropping current holders for fresh ones.
