COMMISSIONER for sports Dan Tamwesigire is to head the six-man committee that will collect data on the artificial astro turf.
The committee is expected to submit proposals on the way forward for the $800,000 (sh1.4bn) project.
Government insists that the turf should be laid in Nakivubo stadium but management of the stadium has resisted the move.
Following this development, the committee was instituted to gather data on the turf and is required to submit its findings to the ministry of education and sports in the next two weeks.
FUFA officials Moses Magogo and Charles Masembe will represent the football governing body while Nakivubo chiefs Eugene Ssemujju and Godfrey Kisekka are also on the committee.
The Education ministry is represented by another official Omara Apitta.
The installation of the astro turf, donated by FIFA to Uganda under the “Win Africa for Africa project”, had stalled after both Nakivubo and FUFA failed to agree on a number of issues.
The six-man committee will be charged with looking at the advantages and disadvantages of having the turf.
The committee will make reference to Rwanda and Burundi where the turf has already been installed.
Committee members are expected to get down to work next week.
