Champions URA open their defence with an away tie against Kinyara on November 4.

FUFA fixtures committee of veterans Ben Omoding and Rajab Kisekka yesterday released the final first round schedule, involving 153 matches.

Omoding said that they were forced to fix few matches on Fridays and Saturdays on the advice of management of the stadia, venues for the Super League. Only 13 are fixed for Saturdays, as the stadium managers said the facilities are normally booked on the day.

However this could also have been done to avoid a clash with the Premiership. Most of the games are now scheduled for Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.

Omoding regretted that clubs were not willing to take their games to Tororo, Bugembe and Gulu yet the facilities there were better than some of the proposed venues.

“It is a big problem that we faced to convince the stadium managers. I wish clubs did not concentrate on stadiums around Kampala,” Omoding said yesterday. He however indicated that their work was likely to be undone since most of the clubs did not have approved stadia.
