THE low-income earning families in Nakasongola and Mukono are to benefit from a cheap housing project launched by MoneyGram International and Habitat for Humanity International.

The beneficiaries are currently living in sub-standard houses.
MoneyGram and Habitat will help build the affordable houses.

The MoneyGram team made up of staff from Bank of Africa, one of MoneyGram’s local agents, last week participated in the brick-laying for one of the houses in Nakasongola.

“As a global company, our customers circle the world.

“Since we believe in giving back to the communities where we do business, we wanted to find a way to effectively make a difference in the lives of people in many corners of the world,” Phil Milne, the MoneyGram International president, explained.

“With the help of Habitat, we will be able to make a contribution to the lives of many people by providing decent and affordable housing,” he added.

MoneyGram’s other agents in Uganda include Allied Bank, Stanbic Bank, Uganda Finance Trust, Prime, Metropolitan and Stanhope forex bureaux.
