THE Namutumba district Woman MP has lauded the Kyabazinga, Henry Wako Muloki, for dissolving his cabinet. Lydia Nyago Kibwika had complained that some officials had diverted from their responsibilities.

“The Constitution is clear about this. Those serving in cultural institutions are not supposed to participate in politics. However, some have been ministers in the kingdom as well as active politicians.”

Kibwika was speaking during celebrations to mark the 45th Independence Day anniversary at the Ivukula sub-county headquarters last week.

It was presided over by Livingstone Sserunjogi, the resident district commissioner.

But Baite Munobwa, who was a deputy minister of production, said the Kyabazinga’s action was not meant to punish anybody but to streamline service delivery.

The Kyabazinga, in a press release of October 6, announced the dissolution of his cabinet that had been headed by Martin Mukasa Musumba since January 2004.

In a letter addressed to Musumba, the Kyabazinga said the cabinet, had failed to develop the kingdom.

He also said Musumba had failed to find a solution to internal strife, which he warned could destroy the reputation of the kingdom.
