THE Inspector General of Government (IGG), Justice Faith Mwondha, has suspended the Kayunga LC5 chairman, Thomas Mulondo, till the criminal case against him is concluded.

Mulondo and Muwanga Kisaalita were arrested on the orders of the IGG and charged before the Mukono Chief Magistrate, Jesse Byaruhanga, with abuse of office and causing the district a financial loss.

Mulondo was released on bail but Kisaalita is still remanded at Kawuga Prison.

In a letter to the Minister of Local Government, Maj. Gen. Kahinda Otafiire, the IGG said the suspension would prevent further mismanagement of the district’s resources.
