AFTER returning home to a big welcome early last week, Uganda’s evicted Big Brother housemate, Maureen Namatovu, treated her fans to a nightlong party on Friday at The Basement Club.

Unlike other countries’ evictees’ home-coming parties, there was no payment to attend Maureen’s. But you had to be invited either by MTN, DStv, or Maureen’s family.

The party started with a cocktail at the club’s lobby, where Kampala’s who-is-who, Big Brother fans and Maureen’s family mingled.

Maureen moved from one group to another meeting her fans, thanking them for supporting her and signing autographs.

And when the party finally left the lobby for the basement, it was show time. Emcee Ronnie Mich Egwang set the ball rolling. He quizzed revellers about Big Brother and gave them

MTN/DStv-branded T-shirts, caps, airtime and mobile phones upon answering the questions correctly.

Fans mimicked the reality show’s housemates’ mannerisms danced and gave speeches about the show as part of the competition to win the goodies.
At some point, Maureen acted as the judge in making sure a mimicked mannerism was associated with the exact housemate the competitor claimed to portray.

Maureen was in high spirits as the competitions went on — she screamed and clapped. Mich put her to task to explain her romance with Malawi’s housemate, Code, to which she astutely answered: “Code was there for me emotionally. We had a good friendship. He is a nice guy.”

Blu*3 graced the bash with hits off their new album, Burn, while ghetto president Bobi Wine and Nubian Lee took on the revellers with Kiwani and Abalungi Balumya.

In her speech, Maureen, overwhelmed by the big turn up, thanked fans for supporting her through her 84-days’ stay in the house She then stormed the dance-floor with her family members, clad in white t-shirts inscribed with her picture and words: “We love you Moli.”

Moli is her home nickname. They danced away the night. Maureen also danced with her fans till late.
Meanwhile, the show has three finalists; Tanzania’s Richard, Nigeria’s Ofunneka and Tatiana, from Angola.

Viewers can now vote the housemate they want to see walk away with the money on November 11.
Ofunneka led to our housemate’s eviction. Richard disgraced the face of television with raunchy scenes as he used Tatiana and Ofunneka.

This leaves Tatiana as the most deserving to take the money home. So why not give it to her — after all our Maureen also thinks she deserves it.
Type Vote Tatiana and send to 15626 (MTN), 5626 (utl), 0903015626 (Celtel). You can also vote online at www.mnetafrica.co.za/bigbrother.
