STUDENTS need to embrace discipline if they are to succeed, the water and environment minister, Maria Mutagamba, has said.

Mutagamba was attending prayers for St Lawrence S6 candidates at Creamland Campus in Budo on Sunday.

She advised students to be torch-bearers of the nation and always be grateful for the gift of education that their parents have given them.
“You must embrace the three Ds of Success; the desire, determination and discipline to be able to succeed,” Mutagamba said
“Discipline is the most important virtue. You might have the desire and determination to be a criminal, but with discipline you will avoid any wrong doing,”she added.

She urged students to meet the demands of the dynamic world, saying outside school there is no one to control them, thus the need for discipline.

Mutagamba hailed the principal of the St. Lawrence schools, Lawrence Mukiibi, for grooming students into responsible citizens.
“In our days we only had the likes of Namagunga and Budo, but with the coming up of good schools like St. Lawrence, we can be assured of quality education for our children,”Mutamba added.
