THE leader of the LRA peace delegation, Martin Ojul, on Wednesday failed to locate his father’s home in Koch-Goma, Amuru district, which he visited for the first time in 22 years.

THE leader of the LRA peace delegation, Martin Ojul, on Wednesday failed to locate his father’s home in Koch-Goma, Amuru district, which he visited for the first time in 22 years.
Clad in a blue-jean suit, Ojul admitted he was lost and could not even point at the direction of his ancestral home.
“I can only point out that the Gombolola building was that side. At this place, were people’s gardens. Now, it is an internally displaced people’s camp.â€
He said he could only remember two people with whom he studied in lower primary school.
“Some of you could have known me as Okema Martin, which is my real name,†he pleaded.
Ojul urged the people to move out of the camps and reconstruct their homes so that in future, their children would not end up forgetting their ancestral homes.
Responding to questions on the peace process, Ojul said the LRA would sign a a final peace agreement at the end of the consultations.
“Very many people from Acholi, Lango and Teso have been flown to meet with LRA leaders in Garamba and Ri-Kwangba. Now, you are here today. Were those consultations useless?†asked Mzee Victonio Okello.
“How long will it take you to sign the final peace agreement? We have died, suffered various consequences of the war as you can see.
“We are living in very difficult conditions in congested camps,†said a youth representative.
Ojul assured them that he would not let Joseph Kony to go back to war.
