COURT will on December 5 rule whether Catherine Naava Nabagesera, the former presidential assistant on legal affairs has a case to answer.

Buganda Road Court Chief Magistrate Margaret Tibulya on Thursday said she would deliver her ruling after studying the evidence and the defence’s submission.

Naava is charged together with Moses Nsubuga Ssempebwa for obtaining over sh100m by false pretence between 2003 and 2005 at their offices on Raja Chambers along Parliament Avenue in Kampala.

The prosecution lined up 34 witnesses who accused the two of conning them.
The duo allegedly obtained the money on pretext that they would secure jobs for them with Global Care Link in the United Kingdom.

State Attorney John Bosco Mudde said the prosecution has collected enough evidence for the accused to be put on trial.

Naava and Nsubuga’s lawyer, John Matovu, argued that there were a lot of inconsistencies in the testimonies of the witnesses and asked court to discharge his clients.
