EXPRESS FC technical staff is plotting to return Sam Ssimbwa to replace sacked head coach Polly Ouma at Wankulukuku.

The team of Kefa Kisaala, Patrick Ntege and Mohamoud Kateregga among others, has deployed moles to talk to Ssimbwa, now at Simba FC, with a possibility of buying off his contract at the army club.

The move follows Sam Kabugo’s refusal to take the offer after the sacking of Polly Ouma. Kabugo was Ouma’s assistant.

Ouma was relieved of his duties last week by the club, accusing him of failing to meet pre-set targets.

Express board secretary Kavuma Kabenge said Ouma was guiding the team to too many draws.
Kateregga explained that Ouma was forced out after he failed to win 15 matches including friendlies as had been agreed.

“We are now trying to find out details of Ssimbwa’s contract so that we can buy it off. He is used to crises and he can handle the current situation,” Kateregga explained.

Ssimbwa won the Kakungulu Cup for the club and saved the Red Eagles from relegation as caretaker coach last season. He however quit Wankulukuku after disagreeing on contract terms.
