EXPRESS FC have signed former player and coach Jimmy
Muguwa, who handled Mbale Heroes last season, takes over from Polly Ouma sacked at the weekend.

Muguwa got the job after a board meeting yesterday.

The former international was promptly introduced to the players by the general manager Peter Mubanda
“I have decided to come back after a good discussion, I hope the players and the team’s top brass will be cooperative,” Muguwa explained.

Later, Muguwa named another former Wankulukuku player Patrick Ntege as his assistant.
Muguwa led Express to the league and Kakungulu Cup double in 1995 after replacing Yugoslav coach Drogan Popadic.

Express striker Hassan Mubiru and defender Francis Gonzaga promised to work with the new coach.

Meanwhile, Augustine Nsumba rescued 16-time league champions SC Villa at the Municipal Stadium with a late strike that helped the side secure a 2-2 draw against Super league debutantes CRO.

Strikes from CRO forwards Michael Sekabira and Henry Kisekka had appeared to have set the home side on the road to a historic win before Henry Kisekka and Nsumba catapulted the Blues to a stalemate.

A 90th minute strike from Richard Ariu helped Maji to a 2-2 draw at Nakivubo Stadium yesterday. The Uganda Prisons outfit had taken the lead through Tonny Omach and Isaac Kisuuju before Isma Kiyaga pulled one back for Maji.

* Masaka LC 5 Chairperson Vincent Ssempijja is demanding for the arrest of defender Frank Ggayi and midfielder Abbas Kiwalabye who took money and disappeared recently. “We are going to press for the arrest of these players,” Ssempijja explained on Wednesday.
