THE latest Edgars soccer coaching sessions will run from December 10 to January 25 at Aga Khan school ground. Former Cranes captain Edgar Watson is chief instructor of the programme held every school holiday. Watson said that the forthcoming programme is reserved for boys and girls between 4 and 18 years. It will be held under the theme Fair Play on and Off the Field. Edgars takes time of his national team duties, where he is coordinator for the players, to train children to be disciplined and educated sportsmen.

U-21s called

NETBALL - UGANDA Netball Federation will name an U-21 national men and womens team for the first time this month. Netball federation secretary Annet Kisomose who replaced Rosette Kaala recently said the girls’ team will be selected from the schools while the boys will come from regions and clubs. The teams will compete at the Africa Zone V championship in Nairobi.

BOXING - VICE- President Prof. Gilbert Bukenya has asked former
IBF Junior Middle weight Champion Kassim ‘The Dream’ Ouma to become his Sports Academy ambassador in the US. Bukenya who hosted Ouma at Busiro sub last week, said the boxer’s association with his Balibaseka Sports Academy would help inspire the youth. “You are a big star. Believe me or not your hand in this will inspire many young ones to stardom,” saidtBukenya. He urged Ouma to save some of his fight earnings to buy a house and warned him not to end up like the disgraced Mike Tyson.
