Chagga’s charged unplugged session

AFTER Chagga quit the Leone Island crew to embark on a solo career, many predicted it would take him “forever” to walk out of Singer Jose Chameleone’s shadow. Chameleone leads the Leone Island. But Chagga has clearly proved he was not one to lurk in the shadows.

At his own Club-sponsored unplugged show at Club Silk last Thursday, Chagga showed what a finished product he had become and also served to answer those who had often asked where he was headed when he took the decision to go.

He showed that he came out of Leone Island with the skills and a definite style, and had an evening that was worth of a crowning act. Chagga’s was the last unplugged session of the year at Silk Lounge, he deservedly received a rousing welcome especially from the ladies who dominated the lounge.

A bigger Club beer unplugged session dubbed the “Anniversary concert”, where all artistes who have performed at the unplugged nights at Silk Lounge will grace the same stage is due on December 14 at Lugogo Mall. Unplugged music fans’ cravings should be sated.

Chagga proved an all-rounder as he performed some of his top songs, Jangu Eno, Kabiite. Omutima Gwange, Ninze, Sikilaba, which showed how he had come of age. So gripped were the ladies by his performances that one offered to wipe every bead of sweat that appeared on his face.

New father, Gen. Mega Dee put up a splendid performance as did Qute Kaye who gave the session the befitting hype it merited.
