CAPITAL Finance Corporation has launched a 10-week savings promotion to encourage the public plan for the future. “In a bid to promote the culture of saving by members of the public, we have decided to come up with a promotion to encourage the public to save for their future and in return get rewarded,” Haider Daudani, the managing director, said during the Kampala launch ceremony last week.

He said customers who open new savings account with sh500,000 or maintain balances of sh500,000 or fixed deposit accounts of sh3m and above, would earn an interest of 7% during the promotion that runs up to March 21.

Daudani disclosed that the customers who excel in depositing will win prizes at the end of the promotion.

The prizes include sh1m, a holiday package- for two in one of the new five-star hotels in town.

“We want every Ugandan to promote the culture of saving as a tool to eliminate poverty in society in order to develop,” Daudani stated.

“People should save 10% of their earnings for their future development plans especially the small salary earners,” he cautioned.
