EDITOR—Posta Uganda wishes to respond to a letter entitled entitled, “What happened to the parcels I sent?” published on December 10.

We wish to inform Mr. Joseph Okalebo and the general public that when a parcel takes a long time before it arrives in Uganda, our research has ascertained that 98% of such cases arise due to delays in flight or shipment from the country of origin or misrouting of items from the country of origin.

We wish to inform our esteemed customers that Posta Uganda is responsible for the safety of any mail item only after it is received at Entebbe Airport or at Busia border.
In case of any delay, customers are kindly advised to contact the Customer Service Centre at the General Post Office or the nearest Post Office.

It is important that the recipient asks the sender to place an inquiry with the dispatching administration to assist in further tracking the whereabouts of an item.

Customers should always have with them the reference number of a parcel or registered mail to enable us track an item. For more information, please contact the Customer Service Centre: Tel: 041-4255511, Fax: 041-4346450, Email: inquiries@ugapost.co.ug.
