Emperatriz is faking the amnesia. She escapes from hospital and falls right into the hands of Gera and his men. They demand that she lures Reinaldo into their trap. Instead Reinaldo finds her under the watch of one of Gera’s men. He kills the man and hits Emperatriz on the head, leaving her unconscious. The police find her and she is charged with murdering the man. She needs an attorney, so she confesses to Guillermo that it is Reinaldo who killed the man. Guillermo and Alejandro confront Reinaldo about it. Guillermo is determined to put him behind bars for the crime.
Soledad gets back with Carlos Alberto on condition that he stops the pursuit of the revenge. He lies to her that he will stop. He wants Jose Louis to help him pursue Reinaldo, but Jose is tired of the revenge as well. He does not want his mother to go through the pain of having a son in jail and instead tells Soledad to warn Reinaldo.
Soledad meets with Alejandro to tell him to warn Reinaldo. Before she can tell him so, he confesses to her that he had found out that his father Rodrigo was involved in the murder of Arturo and the escape of the men who had killed him. Soledad is infuriated and now wants to see Rodrigo, who is still in hiding, rot in jail. Will she and Isabela finally get their revenge or does Rodrigo still have his nine lives?

Berenice's mother finds out from the police notice board that Berenice is dead. She and her husband blame Diego and Paloma for the death. Meanwhile, Carlos Fontabo succeeds in proving that El Cafetalero was carrying out fictitious exportations. Avalaneda calls the Sanchez-Zambrano family and announces that their exporting licence will be cancelled. Everyone knows that Fabian is responsible, but he is nowhere to be found. He is in New York, where the news has broken out only an hour before he can get the bank loan.
Angela and Bernado destroy the papers that would implicate Fabian. When asked about his shipping company being involved, Bernado points out that it is Paloma and Diego to blame. Their signatures are on the papers. However, Bernado’s partner finds the torn papers in the trash can and makes a decision. He will not let Fabian ruin him. Will he be the one to save Diego and Paloma?
Gian Carlo asks Soledad to marry him. She allows shyly. The two will be moving to live in Italy where he originates. It is also the day that Paloma has to leave for London. She is on the way to the airport, oblivious of the fact that she might be in trouble with the El Cafetalero scandal. Will she make it out of the country on time? Will they arrest her before she leaves?
