A STUDENT of Kings College Budo drowned in a swimming pool at Hotel Africana in Kampala early this week.

A STUDENT of Kings College Budo drowned in a swimming pool at Hotel Africana in Kampala early this week.
Jonah Magino, a Senior Two student, died at about 4:00pm on Sunday, according to the hotel general manager, Paul Akivembe.
“They boy dived into the pool for a swim but he was dead moments after getting into the water,†Akivembe told The New Vision.
“I have recorded statements over the incident. We are waiting for a post-mortem report.â€
Akivembe said Magino had earlier been teaching some children how to swim.
He added that Magino was a “casual clientâ€, whose records were not kept by the hotel.
But a hotel employee, who preferred anonymity, said there was no attendant at the pool at the time of Magino’s death.
