<b>Uganda tops scouts event</b><br>JINJA - Uganda emerged winner of this year’s Eastern Africa Scouts’ championships, after beating five other countries in the region. Good Heart SS from Jinja represented Uganda at the event held at the Rowallan Campsite in Nairobi, Kenya recently.

JINJA - Uganda emerged winner of this year’s Eastern Africa Scouts’ championships, after beating five other countries in the region. Good Heart SS from Jinja represented Uganda at the event held at the Rowallan Campsite in Nairobi, Kenya recently. It garnered 328 points out of 430, to claim the top position. Mt. Kenya troupe from Kenya and Morogoro troupe from Tanzania came second and third respectively.

Kapchorwa pays officer

KAPCHORWA - Kapchorwa district and the town council have regained access to their bank accounts after paying sh6.8m owed to former town clerk Alfred Mashandich Chemisto. Council chairman George Toskin handed over the money to Chemisto’s lawyers on Tuesday. Chemisto sued after he was demoted to a senior assistant town clerk.
