IT is Christmas again, a time to give gifts to loved ones. The <i>New Vision</i> interviewed 25 women in the age-bracket of 20-60 years. Below are the gifts they wished to receive this Christmas

IT is Christmas again, a time to give gifts to loved ones. The New Vision interviewed 25 women in the age-bracket of 20-60 years. Below are the gifts they wished to receive this Christmas.

Jewelry kit/box
Five women said they wished to receive a jewelry box. Lord’s gifts and toys centre on Wilson road, Kampala have got classy jewelry boxes of different shapes in ceramic and wooden materials. Prices range from sh4,000 to sh20,000.

Money purse
Ten out of the 25 women said they wanted money purses. The purses/wallets are widely available in leather or synthetic fabric. For as little as sh10,000, you can get a money purse at Quality supermarket, Uchumi supermarket, Lord’s gift and toy centre and at the National Theater cultural village.

Jewelry
Fifteen women expressed their wish for a set of jewelry as a Christmas gift. Out of the 15, five wished to have silver jewelry, while the 10 wanted gold jewelry. You can spoil your beloved with a set that includes a watch, necklace and earrings. From sh50,000 you can get a set of silver jewelry, while sh100,000 can get you a gold set at Jit Jewellers on Charm Towers and at the Grand Imperial outlets in Kampala.

Shoes
Twenty women preferred shoes. If your gift list includes shoes, visit boutiques in the upper-market shops with just sh30,000 to acquire a unique and stylish shoe.

Designer perfume
Ten women between 20-40 years said they wanted designer perfumes. So this festive season, take her into the
world of fragrances at Pleasures, 212 Sexy and Beautiful, Body Care and Charms on Jinja road, Kampala.

Garments
Eight women said they were looking forward to receiving garments in cotton, pure silk or linen. Such garments are sold at Smart fit on NSSF building and at Game Stores in Lugogo. Take her measurements as you go for shopping. At sh30,000 you can walk away with a good blouse.

Ten women craved for gomesses. For this busuuti, you do not have to fight for space in the downtown shops. You can get good material for the garment at Shina Fashions on William Street and Fair Textile on Luwum Street in Kampala.

Five women prayed for omenda/eshuka as a Christmas gift. Good materials can be got from Shina collections, Fair Textile and at Modern Fashions on Luwum Street, all in Kampala city.
A bible

Five women between 40-60 years old said a Bible would open their joy taps. The wonderful gift costs sh15,000 at Uchumi supermarket and in many other bookshops around Kampala.

Flower vase
Seven women wished to have flower vases for their Christmas gifts. Check out at Decor Plus on Nkrumah road, Lord’s gift and toy centre on Wilson road, Millennium 2000 supermarket and at Quality Supermarket for glass, ceramic, wooden and metallic vases. The vases cost between sh10,000 and sh50,000.

Phone
Ten women yearned for trendy phones like the Black Berry and Nokia N-series. Phones are better bought from registered dealers to avoid the embarrassment of giving a fake gift to your loved one.

Handbag
Nine longed for handbags. You can check out for nice bags on Nabugabo Street for as little as sh35,000. You will be spoilt for choice between travel bags, shoulder bags, shopping bags, clutch bags, duffel bags and even a bumbag or what Americans refer to as a waist pack.

Juice or wine glasses
During the interview, four women wished for a set of glasses. They sold in various designs and sizes at Luminarc shop on Ben Kiwanuka Street. A set of six wine glasses will cost you about sh40,000. Juice glasses goes for as little as 15,000.

Other gifts
Only one woman opted for a photo frame. Another lone respondent wanted a photo album, one wanted a bedside lamp and yet another a DVD player.
