THE Police are investigating claims that a person was killed at the shrine of Shaban Kasozi Nyonyintono, a driver to Col. Ramadhan Kyamulesire.

Kasozi and his brothers Hassan Lubega and Ali Kasozi were arrested on Tuesday arrested over allegations that they killed their brother Yahaya Matovu, 28.

“We are investigating a case of a missing person which was reported in Wakiso. The suspects are being detained at the Central Police Station in Kampala as investigations go on,” Police spokesperson Judith Nabakooba said yesterday.

Nabakooba said the suspects were found in possession of Col. Kyamulesire’s army vehicle.
By yesterday, the Police was still probing suspected human bones and clothes recovered from the vehicle, which witnesses allege belong to people killed at Nyonyintono’s shrines in Namusera in Wakiso.

This is the second murder-related case linked to Nyonyintono in two months.
In February, his grandmother, Mayimuna Ndagire, reported to the Police that Nyonyintono had threatened to kill her.

Ndagire said the threats followed the mysterious disappearance of her grandson (Matovu) who had clashed with Nyonyintono over proceeds from a piece of land.

Ndagire revealed that she relinquished the land located in Kibuli to her grandchildren to sell and share the proceeds.

“When Nyonyintono got a buyer, he sold it and took all the money. His brother insisted that he should also have a share. Nyonyintono picked him and he has since gone missing. Now, he is threatening me as well,” Ndagire said in a statement.

Kampala Central MP Erias Lukwago on Monday pinned Kyamulesire, a UPDF representative in Parliament, of being involved in ritual murder, saying his vehicle was found being used by the suspects.

Kyamulesire admitted offering Nyonyintono to use the vehicle to transport a sick relative to hospital, but denied involvement in the alleged murder.

Bukedde newspaper reported that Nyonyintono was found with a UPDF identity card, but army spokesman Maj. Felix Kulayigye said none of the suspects was a soldier.
