THE Uganda Cricket Association will reap sh20m while the man-of-series will win a free return ticket and holiday in Dubai at the end of the NCR Twenty20 tournament, organisers announced yesterday.

The competition that is promoting the shortest version of the game, starts on Saturday. West Indies legend Brian Lara will grace the semi-finals and finals June 6-7.

Releasing the draw at Lugogo yesterday, organising committee chairman Sanjiv Patel said there was a lot of enthusiasm especially from younger players eager to impress the national coach.

Patel said that local players will be free to join teams of their choice.

He revealed that the organisers have gone a step further by talking to their Tanzania and Kenyan counterparts with the idea of starting a regional Twenty20 meet.

The eight teams will share out sh3m. The event is co-sponsored to the tune of sh40m by Tullow Oil, Nile Breweries, Game Stores, Toyota Uganda, USPA and Rwenzori Water.

Crane Bank, Pakistan Association, NCR and Midcom have also all pledged continued support of the competition.
